"Climate and Health Concerns Advance"

Montana Health Care Providers participated in the first annual "Climate and Health Solutions for our Future" Conference April 8-10, 2018, in Washington, D.C.  Over 250 people gathered in Arlington, Virginia last week, with a goal of engaging climate policy from the clinician perspective. At the first annual meeting of the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health, leaders from across the country discussed the need to act, highlighted actions already underway, and prescribed climate action for better health.prescribed climate action for better health.


The Consortium now represents the societies representing over 55% of the physicians in the U.S.  There is a now a similar nurse organization established in 2017: the Nursing Collaborative on Climate Change and Health.  A videorecording was made of Dr. Robert Byron of Hardin and his concern for his patients due to climate change.  Dr. Lori Byron participated in an Education Panel.  Ronni Flannery of Montana's American Lung Association was also in attendance.
