2016 MPHA Awards

When public health works, the efforts behind the scenes often go unnoticed. MPHA recognized and celebrated the following individuals on September 27 at the MPHA Annual Conference and Meeting for the work they are doing to advance the public's health.

Presidents Award- honors an individual, group, or organization whose work has made a significant statewide impact in public health

  • Healthy Communities Coalition- Lewis and Clark County
       "For your collaborative efforts and commitment to preventing chronic disease, enhancing population well being, and sharing public health success throughout Montana."

Early Impact Award- honors a individual who has made an impact within the first 2-5 years of working in public health 

  • Sarah Crowley- Lewis and Clark Public Health
        "Recognizing your early impact in public health through your work in children's health, asthma prevention, and as a builder of community Partnerships."

Exemplary Service Awards- regional award honoring an individual's exemplary performance in public health ( limited to five per year, one per region)

  • Deb Anderson- Blaine County Health Department,  Region 2
       “Honoring your exemplary and multifaceted service in rising to county public health challenges in North Central Montana.

  • Brenda Koch- RiverStone Health,  Region 3
        “Honoring your exemplary public health service as a community leader, collaborator, and educator dedicated to reducing vaccine-preventable diseases for everyone in Montana."

Career Achievement Award- honors a strong commitment to public health, given to those with at least 25 years of public health service to Montana

  • Jeanne UnderhillLewis and Clark Public Health 
    ognizing your extensive public health service as a leader addressing chronic disease and  mental illness, and as an advocate for Montanan's aging population."
