Bike Rodeo

Teton County Health Department (TCHD) will be holding a Bike Rodeo  on May 25th

Last year we partnered with local schools, Benefis Teton Medical Center, the sheriff's department and the Lion’s Club to put this fun event together.

Donations from the Benefis Foundation,Teton Medical Center Foundation and Teton Banks enabled us to purchase bike helmets, drawstring bags and  lunch for the volunteers.

This collaborative effort allowed Teton Medical Center  to meet their Trauma Designation Prevention activity and Teton County Health Department was able to meet their MCH Injury Prevention (FICMR) activity goal.

Children were encouraged to bring their own bikes. If a child did not own a bike we found a bike for them to use at the rodeo and take home.

Volunteer’s from the community helped with the bike safety check, fitting each child with a new bike helmet or running the obstacle course where the children learned bike safety.  After completing all the activities the children received a drawstring bag filled with goodies and a laminated bicycle badge from a sheriffs deputy.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
