Montana Public Health Nursing Directors Meeting

Treasurer Report - No treasurer report was given – report will be provided at next meeting.
Minutes: Were approved.
MPHA Dues/Website -Lora Wier provided information regarding the new registration process/dues for MPHA which is on the MPHA website. Director’s dues are also located at the same site. The current cost for director’s dues is $25.00. MPHA website is being updated. Suggestion for what MPHA Directors would like to see on website: 1. Mission Statement, 2. Goal, 3. Updated pictures, 4. Officers, 5. Useful l lincs, 6. Current minutes, 7. Brochures, 8. Who can join, 9. Next MPHA meeting is in Sept. everyone was encouraged to nominate and submit their applications for MPHA Awards in the fall.
H1N1 - review of immunization process – what worked/what didn’t.
HDIS – information was provided on HDIS. Discussion on how well it was working for counties currently using it. Some counties have reported minor problems. MCCHD is very happy with the program and is planning on expanding.
Immunization Registries: Some changes are to be expected from DPHHS regarding immunizations registries. Linda Best reported on MLC’s finding regarding the current immunization registry WIZRD. CoCas report was sent by DPHHS to each county in hopes to improve immunization rates. All agreed that input from MPHA Directors, MPHA, and AMPHO to DPHHS regarding what we want/need for new immunization registry.
PHND Strategic Planning (SP): All members agreed and new strategic plan was needed. Members need to review current SP on the MPHA website. There was some discussion on where and when for SP meeting, but had not been finalized.
Accreditation: All members were encouraged look at the Ten Essential Public Health Services as well and the Standards for PH. Julie provided information on the Ten Essential PH Services. It is important for us to all be on the same page and to support HB173 continue legislation.
Health Care Reform: Julie provided information regard health care reform related to PH.
