The American Public Health Association has announced the theme of National Public Health Week 2017: “Healthiest Nation 2030,” with the lofty goal of creating the healthiest nation in one generation.
Let’s join in!
With an early start, we can be ready to do our part to inspire the citizens of Montana to be their healthiest yet. Our role as public health workers – educating our citizens, promoting wellness, developing and implementing strategies to improve health – uniquely positions us make a difference in the lives of ordinary citizens and in the health of our communities.
With ample time to plan and gear up, we hope to see our membership much more involved in National Public Health Week than last year. Stay tuned for more specifics on ways you can participate.
In the meantime, here are a few ideas to get you started:
Follow APHA on Twitter for the latest news.
Consider taking (and encouraging others to take) APHA’s 1Billion Steps Challenge to encourage communities to get physically active. Improve health while having fun!
And please share any feedback or ideas on how MPHA can most effectively take advantage of National Public Health Week. Thank you.
